Manufacturing
At our Cirencester manufacturing site, we carry out most manufacturing procedures, packaging and dispatch to our UK and international customers. We recruit the following skills into our production department
- Production operatives
Responsible for a range of manual processes involved in the manufacturing of orthopaedic devices, including polishing, linishing, laser marking, shotblasting, cleaning and assembly. Production operatives ensure that all products manufactured are to the appropriate tight dimensional requirements and polish finish.
- Inspectors
Responsible for carrying out the inspection of Corin products in line with specifications and defined inspection criteria. Responsibilities include carrying out general measurement/inspection using a variety of equipment, completing documentation relating to product inspection, recording results.
- CNC operators
Responsible for operating a variety of CNC lathes and mills, ensuring that all products manufactured are to the appropriate quality level. Liaising with immediate supervisor to ensure that adequate resources are available to meet production requirements, ensuring correct programmes are used. Operators should be able to run a range of CNC machines and work as part of a multi-skilled team.
- CNC programmers/Setters
Responsible for programming and operating a variety of CNC lathes and mills, ensuring that all products manufactured are to the appropriate quality level. Generating and validating new CNC programmes, ensuring correct programmes are used.
- Mechanical polishers
Responsible for operating a modern custom-built mechanical polishing machine, ensuring that all products manufactured are to the appropriate tight dimensional requirements and polish finish. Polishers should be able to run multiple mechanical polishing machines, learn other disciplines within the mechanical polishing cell, and work as part of a multi-skilled team.
Other areas
- Sales
Corin employs a team of UK sales personnel, each covering a geographical territory and they are responsible for the entire Corin product portfolio. These sales executives report to regional business development managers, who in turn report to the UK General Manager.
- Customer services
These key personnel are the first point of contact for customers around the world wanting to place orders for Corin products. The UK customer service team can provide next day delivery of any product and liaise directly with the hospital staff to ensure that the right products and support services are delivered on time. Our export customer services team liaises and supports Corin subsidiaries and our many distributors around the world.
- Marketing
The marketing function is extremely varied and includes designing and producing sales brochures and support documentation, operative technique CDs and videos, patient education material and other support material for the global Corin sales team. The team also designs and builds all our worldwide exhibitions stands, organises surgeon meetings around the world and designs and manages the Corin website.
- Information technology
The Corin organisation is increasingly reliant on IT to support its activities and provides fast communication between the company’s headquarters and its customers, sales personnel and subsidiaries around the world. From basic office to advanced computer systems for research and development and production control, IT also encompasses in-house video conferencing facilities linking our subsidiaries, a sophisticated company intranet system and advanced mobile communications systems.
- Research and development
One of the fastest growing areas of the business, a talented team of engineers uses the latest CAD design and rapid prototyping systems to develop innovative new products, as well as constantly improving existing products and instrumentation.
- Regulatory affairs
Many countries now demand specific regulatory control of medical devices and this team ensures that Corin products are suitably licensed and approved for use in the world’s major orthopaedic markets.
- Finance
From financial controllers to management accountants and ledger clerks, this team ensures that invoices are raised and paid, that all departmental budgets are properly controlled and that Corin’s finances are kept in the best of order.
