Barry Taylor
Quality Assurance Manager, UK
Barry first came to Corin in 2001 and now heads up the Quality team (part of the wider regulatory department) as Quality Assurance (QA) Manager. As Corin has evolved, so too has this critical part of the business – expanding from a team of just one in Barry’s early days to a cross-functional team of 20.
Barry sees his career as having followed a natural progression – from his beginnings as an apprentice machinist/inspector, through a series of logical advancements, before taking up his current role. With experience gained across a number of different industries – including a range of different quality roles spanning 13 years at Zimmer, as well as a Masters degree in Manufacturing Management from the Open University – Barry is well-qualified for his role today.
What Barry says he likes most about his work is the constant challenge and variety, as well as the interaction with so many different disciplines: "Having worked in a number of engineering sectors, it is great to work in an area that really does impact on people’s wellbeing. When people say that they feel fantastic after joint replacement, I feel proud to be part of this industry. Interacting with machining specialists, modellers, the CEO, development engineers, sales executives on a daily basis means that I am truly a valued member of a valuable team."
