Yuriko Kimura
Sales Representative, Japan
Yuriko Kimura joined Corin’s Japan office in 2004 as a sales representative in the Greater Osaka area, where she covers hospitals in the Nara and Wakayama prefectures.
Before coming to Corin, Yuriko worked for Senko Medical, one of the oldest manufacturers of medical devices in Japan. It was here that she first became immersed in the world of orthopaedics, where she worked in the field for more than ten years. Orthopaedics was not always her passion though, having originally trained as a hairdresser. After studying for her diploma, she subsequently decided that she wanted to follow a different career path and it was at this time that she became fascinated by the medical devices industry, taking up a position with Senko.
She has since never looked back and today, Corin’s Japan office offers a friendly and supportive environment where teamwork is key. Yuriko enjoys both the surroundings in which she works as well as the daily challenges that her job presents. Her territory, Nara and Wakayama, has a long history with many World Heritage classified temples and shrines. In such traditional surroundings, conservative attitudes can sometimes prevail – particularly in the medical field. As Yuriko comments: “This just means that my job can sometimes be a little harder, particularly when demonstrating new technologies. I have managed to convert many of these more conservative views though and always feel very happy and a great sense of achievement whenever I win a new customer”.
