Total Ankle Replacement

Zenith instrumentation The third generation instrumentation that accompanies the Zenith implants allows the surgeon to carry out accurate, reproducible implant positioning with a comprehensive, fully jigged system.

Tibial alignment jig

The tibial alignment jig prevents rotation of the implants and allows complete tibial preparation from a constant reference point. The jig accommodates all leg lengths with A-P/M-L translations and aligns to the tibial tuberosity.

Tibial/Talar block

The unique patented design of this block allows a controlled tibial resection but also provides a simple solution to creating a talus cut that is parallel to the tibial cut. Combining these steps creates a working space with an optimal view which is unique to the Zenith system.

Tibial window block

The tibial window block easily locates on to the tibial alignment jig without re-positioning. Six different tibial window blocks accommodate varying amounts of tibial resection. Three options for the length of the tibial window which correspond to the initial distal tibia cut and two options for the width of the tibial window for each length correlate to the selected tibial size.

Talar sizing and centering guide

Precise A-P and M-L positioning is possible by locating the centre of the talus. This is achieved by selecting a sizing block with optimal coverage in all directions. The tibial window is used as a centre guide, aligning with the second metatarsal.

Anterior talus reamer guide

A flat anterior cut is performed using the reamer guide. This locates around a driven pin which marks the centre of the talus. The reamer to be used is the same size as the selected talus sizer and centre guide.
