Mr Jonathan Baré

Mr Jonathan Baré completed his medical degree at Monash University and obtained an orthopaedic fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. On completion of his orthopaedic training, Jonathan undertook further subspecialty fellowships in hip and knee surgery. These were at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (UK) and the University of Western Ontario (Canada). Jonathan is currently involved in research around optimisation of implant positioning in joint replacement surgery. He is a partner of the Melbourne Orthopaedic Group and is currently a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the Australian Arthroplasty Society.

A/Prof Andrew Shimmin is a graduate of the Australian Orthopaedic Association Training Program with specialist expertise in hip and knee joint replacement. A/Prof Shimmin has given over 300 presentations at national and international orthopaedic conferences, written over 100 publications in major orthopaedic journals, and contributed to numerous book chapters.
A/Prof Shimmin is a past President of the Australian Arthroplasty Society, a member of the Australian Knee Society, the International Hip Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. In the past he has also been an advisor to the Australian Government on the safety and efficacy of medical devices.
