UHCW NHS Trust has two hospitals: St Cross in Rugby, and University Hospital in Coventry, which is a level 1 trauma centre. There is a large orthopaedic department of 35 consultants, performing approximately 1500 hip and knee replacements each year. The department is also a regional centre for complex revision arthroplasty and management of prosthetic joint infections. There is a large active orthopaedic research department.

Qualified as a doctor in Barcelona, underwent BST and specialist training in the UK. Consultant at UHCW since 2003 after completing a Fellowship in Lower Limb Reconstruction in Oxford, Mr Foguet is also an Honorary Associate Clinical Professor at Warwick University. Pedro is a high volume primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty surgeon with two main interests, management of Prosthetic Joint Infection and improving the survivorship of hip replacement by optimising the orientation of the components using OPS technology.

Professor Richard King

Prof King has been a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at UHCW since 2008. His clinical practice is entirely hip and knee arthroplasty, with an interest in revision arthroplasty, infections, and complex primary hip replacements. In 2009 he invented a novel scale marker to facilitate accurate X-ray templating of THR, which is now used around the world. He has performed over 250 hip replacements using custom acetabular guides, and is leading research projects on 3d planning and simulation of hip replacement.
