Corin Australia named as Finalists in the MTAA Women in MedTech Awards

2As one of the fastest growing Orthopaedic companies in Australia, Corin Australia is truly leveraging the benefits that an inclusive and diverse workforce offers. We are delighted these efforts have been recognised by the MTAA as finalists in the 2018 Women in MedTech Award.

Corin Australia believes strongly in gender equality and has been working towards employing an increase in female talent in order to reach not only 50:50 ratio for women:men in the business, but also similar equality within the Leadership team.

In 2016, Corin Australia had a team of 40, made up of 16 women and 24 men.  At this time our leadership team was 30% female.  Fast forward to 2018, as HR Manager, and part of the team at Corin Australia, I am proud that women make up 50% of the workforce, a significant achievement given the company has doubled in size during this period.  On top of this, we have managed to achieved 50/50 gender ratio within the leadership team.

3At Corin Australia, we promote a highly supportive and flexible working culture, allowing a healthy and achievable balance between work and life commitments for all employees.  With 5 out of 6 of the women in the leadership team also being working part-time Mum’s, we proudly lead by example.  To provide further support and benefit, in 2018 we revised our Parental Leave Policy with the addition of employer funded paid parental leave for eligible employees at 8 weeks full pay or 16 weeks half pay, which is in line with Workplace Gender Equality Employer of Choice.

All of this lends towards a highly engaged, productive and successful team, as evident in our recognition earlier this year as one of Australia’s Best Places to Work for 2018 by Great Places to Work, Australia.
