From 1981-1991 Dr. Kothny specialised in general surgery and rotated through various departments at the University Hospital “Klinikum Rechts der Isar”, Munich. From 1992-2003 he was a Senior Physician in the Department for Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Orthopaedics, City Hospital Munich-Bogenhausen under Prof. Dr. W. Keyl. From 1988-1992 he was the leading emergency physician of the City of Munich as a Consultant. Since 2003 he started as founder and director of Munich Ortho Center.
